Mrs. Gina García (English II Team)

Gina García received her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas-Pan American and has been teaching English for 10 years.

I've lived in the valley most of my life. I was born in McAllen and raised in San Juan. My hobbies include reading, writing, travelling, rock & roll music, playing the guitar/piano, martial arts and anything involving nature.My formal education includes having attended 5 different universities/colleges throughout my academic career: The University of Massachusetts-Amherst, The University of Oxford-Trinity College (England), Smith College, UTPA, and STCC. I have a Bachelor's of Arts in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and am currently pursuing a Masters in English Literature at UTPA.
Prior to teaching at McAllen Memorial High School (this is my second year here), I taught English for five years at PSJA Memorial High School where I taught 9th, 10th & 12th grades (SD, CP & Pre-AP). Before that, I taught English for one year at W.A. Todd Ninth Grade Campus in Donna (9th & 10th grade SD). .

Rachelle Grace has a B.S. in Language Arts from the University of Kansas.

David Moore has a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Concordia University.

Sophia Peña-Garza has a B.A. in English from The University of Texas-Pan American.

Ann Velarde graduated from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri.
